Four Canadian students talk about their experience at Huawei HQ

Designed for students in higher education who want a career in tech, Seeds for the Future is a global training initiative that we’ve been running since 2008.

A Taste of 5G

Last month’s crop of students experienced a first in the program: Huawei’s on-site 5G lab for Seeds for the Future is now up and running, so they had the chance to get hands-on experience with some our latest 5G products and solutions.

A Quick Intro to the Seeds’ Experience

Since it was first launched 10 years ago, Seeds for the Future has seen 4,700+ students from 108 countries land in China to get to know us, our tech, our culture, and of course China’s rich traditions.

First stop is Beijing – a cultural giant with 3,000 years of history under its belt. In the nation’s capital, students learn about some of China’s traditional arts and crafts like calligraphy and painting paper fans.

Next stop is the much younger city of Shenzhen. Home to Huawei HQ, this global tech hub started life as a humble fishing town just 40 years ago. Since then, it’s grown into a megacity with a population of 20 million. It’s here that Seeds’ students learn about Huawei’s products and solutions, spend time in the lab and classroom, and tour our exhibition halls.

  1. I’ve sent my application video yesterday. I really hope that I get to be a part of this wonderful program this summer. I’d love to learn more about 5G products this summer!
