In May 2020, Huawei become the first vendor to pass the NESAS audit for 5G wireless and core network equipment.

Why NESAS Matters

It’s important for mobile operators to keep their network’s secure. And doing so requires a standard to measure the security of any network and the equipment on which it runs. NESAS is just that: a standardized cybersecurity assessment mechanism that was jointly defined by GSMA and 3GPP.

NESAS was designed specifically for the mobile industry, so it can be applied to all equipment vendors and all verification systems. It’s globally unified and efficient, making accreditation easier, faster, and less costly.
