Dec 21: Winning Teams from the Middle East & Central Asia Receives Awards Regional Final of the Huawei ICT Competition 2023-2024

Grand Prize for the Computing Track: Kazakhstan
Prizes were given by His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa and Steven Yi, President of Huawei Middle East and Central Asia.
All participating students in the Regional Finals received internship opportunities at the Huawei offices in their respective home countries.

Dec 20: etisalat by e& and Huawei Trial World’s First 1.6-Tbps Optical Solution

etisalat by e& and Huawei have completed the world’s first 1.6-Tbps per wavelength technology trial on an optical transport network, marking a major industry milestone in the ultra-high-speed optical industry. The trial demonstrates that 1.6Tbps on the DC-centric OSN 9800 Kepler platform can:
- address the growing capacity demand of cloud-based business services, enhanced home broadband, and 5G services.
- reduce per-Gbit power consumption by 65% compared to current industry platforms.
- accelerate etisalat by e&'s evolution towards the 100T network platform for hyperscale cloud computing, which in turn can underpin the 10 Giga UAE Initiative to provide 10 Gbps connectivity to individuals, homes, and enterprises.
Dec 14: ASEAN Centre for Energy, ASEAN Foundation & Huawei Forge Alliance on Sustainable Energy & Digital Innovation

To strengthen regional cooperation and drive sustainable development, the partners signed MoUs at the ASEAN Headquarters in Jakarta, Indonesia.
The agreements focus on energy efficiency, conservation, and the use of renewable energy. It also underscores a shared commitment to empowering the region's youth through digital transformation initiatives.
Dec 13: Huawei Joins Green Digital Action at COP28
Huawei has joined more than 40 leading tech companies and organizations to push for the Green Digital Action (GDA) at the 28th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Climate Change agreement (COP28).
ITU, ISO, IEC, and other partners aim to accelerate climate action with digital technologies. The plan seeks to “create a roadmap that will guide future work and call on experts to contribute post-COP28… and call to experts to share best practices that are not yet standardized.”

Dec 11: Huawei and Its Partners Win Intelligent Digital Transformation Awards at Glotel Awards 2023
At the 11th annual Global Telecoms (Glotel) Awards, Huawei won the Driving Digital Transformation Award with Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison (IOH) Indonesia, and the Telecoms Excellence Award with China Mobile.
Glotel recognizes companies that make outstanding contributions to the evolution and transformation of the communications industry.

Collaboration areas
- IOH partners with Huawei on digital O&M transformation based on people, platform, process, and criteria (3P1C). Designed to ensure network stability and user experience, the partners' intelligent digital product portfolio includes intelligent O&M, network optimization, and experience management.
- IOH has implemented automation and closed-loop management in multiple service and technology scenarios, including convergent data-driven decision-making, process automation, and AI assistance.
Outcomes
- Decreased trouble ticket and complaint ticket quantities of the network operation center (NOC) by 33% and 64%, respectively.
- Increased network traffic by 8.4%.

Collaboration areas
- China Mobile Jiangsu and Huawei have carried out DevOps practices based on China Mobile's DevSecOps platform under Huawei's BSS project. The partners have built delivery capabilities including agile development, CICD pipeline, gray release, and AI-based intelligent O&M.
- The platform has helped China Mobile Jiangsu's transformation to cloud-native architecture, digital delivery, and intelligent O&M.
Outcomes
- Shortened requirement delivery period and issue resolution period by 50% and 49%, respectively.
- Improved the self-healing rate of system process faults by 90%.
Dec 7: Huawei, UNESCO and Thailand's Ministry of Education Launch Green Education Initiative to Drive Climate Action
The partners announced the Green Education Initiative build a climate resilience infrastructure and drive green energy education among young people and communities across Thailand.
The initiative covers three areas:
- Green Schools: promoting water security, clean energy, biomass production, and waste management in educational institutions.
- Green Skills: developing skills among students, educators, and communities to drive environmental responsibility and sustainability.
- Green Communities: engaging with local communities to create awareness and promote green practices beyond schools.
Huawei, through its TECH4ALL initiative, and UNESCO plan to develop green programs and solutions covering these three areas in partnership with Thailand’s Ministry of Education. Projects include digital power technologies for schools, green energy training for students, and a Digital Bus to provide training in digital literacy and climate action with a focus on rural and remote areas throughout Thailand.

Dec 1: Huawei's Core Network Autonomous Driving Network (ADN) Ranked No.1 by ABI Research

In its 5G Core Network Automation and Orchestration report, ABI Research ranked Huawei's core network ADN solution as the globally leading solution.
The report focuses on 5G core network automation and orchestration capabilities and analyzes and ranks mainstream vendors based on technological innovation and commercial deployment. In terms of industry relevance, a survey by TM Forum reports that 91% of global operators have formulated automation strategies and clear investment plans.
Featuring cloud native, digital twins, foundation models, and intent-driven automation, Huawei's core network ADN solution provides E2E automation and intelligence throughout the core network lifecycle, covering:
Planning and construction: CDCT, intent-driven automation, and staging verification achieve efficient and secure network changes and fast service rollout.
Network maintenance: Digital twins, foundation models, and intelligence algorithms ensure high reliability by quickly identifying potential risks and rectifying faults.
Network optimization: The solution can help identify poor-QoE users and guarantee SLA, reducing user complaints and ensuring a deterministic experience for individuals and enterprises.
