Huawei has long used open source software throughout its product lines, and has extensively contributed to the open source community. In recent years, the company has emerged as one of the world's top contributors to open source projects. Open source reflects Huawei's business  philosophy that success comes from collaboration. Our developers actively contribute to major open-source foundations worldwide.

OpenHarmony and Oniro are open-source operating systems that aim to provide a baseline for common technology platforms to simplify device makers’ tasks in an open, trusted, transparent, vendor-neutral, and collaborative way.

Hoperun HH-D05 is an environmental monitoring DevKit, base on Oniro OS, Kanto, Nearlink and Bosch sensors. Developers can use the kit to build IoT solution prototype, which can be used in Smart-Home and Smart-Building.

On Day 2 of Huawei Connect Europe, the Huawei Open Source team hosted a session with partners to discuss the latest industry trends in the open source space and to let European developers know that there's an alternative OS ecosystem.
