February 26-29: MWC Barcelona 2024

Huawei had plenty of important news to share from MWC Barcelona 2024. Below are some of the highlights with links:
- Zain KSA and Huawei Sign New Strategic Collaboration on 5.5G: focuses on green connectivity solutions for building future-ready telecom ecosystem that will support the burgeoning business sector and underpin a digital economy and knowledge-based society in Saudi Arabia.
- Huawei Launches Innovative Intelligent VPP & SmartDC Solutions to Drive Energy Transition: comprises the Site Virtual Power Plant (VPP) Distributed Energy Storage System (DESS) solution and SmartDC, a large-scale data center solution, to drive green and low-carbon transition for operators.
- Huawei Launches 3 AI-Oriented Data Storage Solutions: aims to support carriers build leading data infrastructure in the AI era. The three solutions are AI Data Lake, All-scenario Data Protection, and DCS Full-stack Data Center.
- Turkcell and Huawei Sign 3 MOUs for 5.5G, Green Energy, and AI-based Networks: continues the partners' strategic approach to joint innovation.
- stc Kuwait and Huawei Sign Strategic Cooperation MoU to Accelerate Progress Towards the 5.5G Era: includes building 5.5G-based intelligent wireless networks and developing 5.5G-related new services for consumers, homes, and businesses, to drive the maturity 5.5G industry and ecosystem.
- Telkom Indonesia Releases Asia Pacific's First Bundle Package for SMEs to Facilitate Digital Transformation: aims to provide the best products and services for SMEs in Indonesia to accelerate digital transformation.
- Huawei Wins GSMA Foundry Excellence Award: recognizes contributions to innovation in multiple areas last year, including green telecom networks and 5G New Calling, and Huawei's support for industry partnerships, collaboration, and synergies.
- Huawei Launches 10 Industrial Digital and Intelligent Transformation Solutions and a New Flagship Product Series: comprises solutions that meet the needs of customers at different stages of industrial transformation.
- MTN and Huawei Sign Memorandum of Understanding for Joint Innovation Tech Lab: enables the partners' to boost digital transformation in Africa.
- Huawei Launches New Net5.5G Solutions: comprises new solutions in the fixed 5.5G domain to drive carrier growth, including Net5.5G Mobile Backhaul, Net5.5G High-Quality 10 Gbps Campus, Net5.5G Converged Transport, and Net5.5G Hyper-Converged DCN.
- Huawei Launches 3 All-Optical Products to Commercialize F5.5G: includes the industry's first DC-oriented OTN product, OptiX OSN 9800 K36; the industry's first intelligent OLT product, OptiXaccess MA5800T; and the industry's first FTTR+X product, iFTTR OptiXstar F50 for ultra-broadband backbone, 10G access, and all-optical smart home scenarios.
- Huawei Launches the World's First 5.5G Intelligent Core Network: supports improving both business value and development potential for carriers.
- Huawei and du Sign Strategic Cooperation MOU: supports building a digital UAE by implementing the 5G Advanced Country project.

Feb 23: Huawei Wins Six Awards at 2024 Lightwave Innovation Reviews

Huawei was recognized for its:
1. Huawei OptiX OSN 9800 series products
2. Huawei OptiX OSN 1800 series products
3. 50G PON solution
4. DQ ODN solution
5. DC OptiX solution
6. SE-OTN solution
Lightwave presents the innovation awards for optical communications technologies each year at the OFC (Optical Fiber Communication Conference and Exposition).
Feb 22: du and Huawei Achieve High-performance 800G Network Speeds

The two partners successfully completed the world's first high-performance 800G in Super C+L band over OptiX OSN 9800 Kepler and M Platform. The new enhancement will boost customer experience for using high-speed 5G mobile and broadband home services.

Feb 18: Huawei and Partners Win TM Forum Assets Award

At TM Forum Accelerate, the catalyst project “Intelligent and Value-Driven Network Operations Transformation” incubated by Huawei and telecom operators China Mobile, STC (Saudi Arabia), and Hong Kong Telecom, was honored with the Outstanding Contribution to TM Forum Assets Award. Presented by TM Forum, this award recognizes a team that has made the most significant contribution to the value of TM Forum's assets based on the results of a Catalyst project.
The catalyst project leverages several capabilities from the Huawei Intelligent Operations solution, including the new metric EDNS (Expected Demand Not Served), the new platform iEM (intelligent Event Management), the new value framework VOF (Value Operations Framework), and cutting-edge technologies like AI and Graph Neural Networks (GNN).
These capabilities collectively enhance operational efficiency by prioritizing work orders based on service impact.
Feb 7: Huawei Wins Energy Globe World Award for Yancheng Low-Carbon & Smart Energy Industrial Park
The Yancheng Low-Carbon & Smart Energy Industrial Park project received 2023 Energy Globe World Award. The project is a collaborative effort between Yancheng Power Supply Company of State Grid Jiangsu and Huawei.
Selected from 2,000 project by a panel of organizations including Energy Globe Foundation, United Nations Industrial Development Organization, and the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber, the features of the award winner include:
- produces 85% clean energy
- saves 3 million kWh of electricity*
- 5,600 tons fewer carbon emissions per year*

Feb 6: MTN South Africa and Huawei Completed Africa's First Scale Deployment of 800G Optical Network

MTN South Africa and Huawei have completed Africa's first scale deployment of an 800G optical network, marking a significant step towards green and reliable networks that boost digital and sustainable development of Africa.
The 800G links were set up, with single fiber capacity of 48 Tbps, to connect data centers in Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town. This domestic backbone will meet MTN’s growing capacity requirements for its cloud-based business services, enhanced home broadband, and wireless networks. It also delivers optimal cost per bit and improved energy efficiency.

Feb 2: Huawei OptiX OSN 1800 Series Ranks as the Only "Leader" in Access WDM by GlobalData

GlobalData's Packet-Optical Access: Competitive Landscape Assessment 2023 states that Huawei OptiX OSN 1800 series offers leading architecture, excellent transmission performance, and mature commercial use cases, helping Huawei rank as the only "Leader" with the highest score in access WDM by GlobalData.
