At MWC Shanghai 2024, Huawei hosted the Global Launch of 5G-A Pioneers Program. Themed Driving Shared Success with 5G-A, the brought together pioneering 5G operators from around the world, including China's big three, HKT, du, and Oman Telecommunications. Discussion centered on how to drive the high-quality development of 5G-A networks and seize opportunities in the intelligent world to create new market growth.

June 25: Huawei to Cultivate 3,000 Developer Advocates in the Next Three Years

Zhang Ping'an, Executive Director and CEO of Huawei Cloud Computing Technologies, launched the Huawei Developer Advocate Program at the Huawei Developer Conference (HDC) on June 21.
Over the next three years, the Program will cultivate 3,000 developer advocates, a diverse group that will include academics, students, and developers. Advocacy empowers developers with cutting-edge technologies and promotes ecosystems such as Kunpeng, Ascend, HarmonyOS, and Huawei Cloud.
The program will promote industry-academia cooperation, technical training, development resources, various activities and platforms, and development operations. Developer advocates share technical knowledge and practical experience with other developers through courses, textbooks, practice projects, technical communities, contests, and technical promotion for joint ecosystem growth and branding. Anyone meeting the application criteria is welcome to sign up.

June 24: Huawei & Partners Win TM Forum Best Sustainability Moonshot Catalyst Award

Huawei and partners won the TM Forum's Best Moonshot Catalyst Award 2024 for its project Sustainable Telco by Green Network Evolution, which comprised the GNED (Green Network Evolution and Digitization) integration platform.
The platform's digital and intelligent capabilities support green network evolution, energy saving, and carbon emissions reduction applicable to different scenarios for improving network capabilities, supporting new service growth, and enabling sustainable development of the telecom industry.
Partners include China Mobile, Hong Kong Telecom (HKT), South Africa Openserve , Saudi Arabia STC, Tsinghua University, China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT) and Eastcom Software.

June 19: Huawei, TM Forum, and Eight Carriers Release New-Generation Intelligent Operations White Paper 2.0

At Digital Transformation World (DTW) 2024, Huawei, TM Forum, and eight carriers, including Orange, HKT, and China Mobile, released the New-Generation Intelligent Operations White Paper 2.0. They also discussed the new technical features of intelligent operations transformation and shared their application practices.
In the white paper, Huawei proposes a new value system and measurement metrics for service-centric operations to support resource investment decision-making and measure achievements in transformation. The new value system, which starts from business results, measures achievements in transformation through not only effectiveness, but also revenue, innovation, and customer satisfaction.

June 19: Huawei and China Mobile Win TM Forum 2024 “People and Planet” Excellence Award

At the TM Forum Digital Transformation World (DTW) 2024 summit, Huawei and China Mobile were received the People and Planet" Excellence Award for the outstanding innovation and implementation of the Zero Carbon Ocean 5G Coverage and Ocean Care project.
The partners integrated 5G, AI, IoT and other technologies into the marine industry to:
- Deploy offshore 5G base stations, overcoming the obstacles of site selection, power supply, and backhaul in the offshore scenarios
- Achieve Zero Carbon 5G coverage across the maritime expanse through renewable energies such as wind and solar
- Collaborate with satellite companies to create an integrated Space-Sky-Sea network that provides 100% wireless coverage in coastal waters
The solution also enables a diverse range of services for offshore workers, tourists, and fishermen, including basic communication, entertainment, and business. It also supports B2B applications such as marine IoT, smart waterways, intelligent patrols, and an emergency communications.
June 12: MTN South Africa and Huawei Sign MoU for Strategic Cooperation on Net5.5G

MTN South Africa and Huawei co-hosted on June 6th IP Day Summit themed Net5.5G Network Development and signed an MoU for strategic cooperation on Net5.5G.
The partners will jointly promote the large-scale application of key capabilities of Net5.5G, such as 400GE, SRv6, slicing, and Network Digital Map. The aim is to boost MTN's service experience and network availability for MTN's customers in the consumer and B2B fields and improve O&M efficiency.
MTN and Huawei will continue to define the Net5.5G target network and support the sustainable development of MTN's mobile, enterprise, and home broadband services.

June 05: Huawei and Partners Win Prestigious International Awards for Demo Cases of AI in Industry

Huawei and its partners have won two prestigious awards for cases demonstrating practical applications of AI in industry.
- AI for Good Global Summit: The ITU gave an award to Huawei and Hunan Valin Xiangtan Iron and Steel's for their use case of the Huawei Pangu AI Model in the steel industry.
- World Summit on the Information Society awarded Huawei and Saudi Telecom Company an Excellence Certificate to for their SmartTruck project, a mobile classroom that offers digital training to older people.
