Dec 24: Claro Peru and Huawei Deploy World's First Commercial EcoMatrix Site

    251224-01

With a highly integrated design that enables simplified and green deployment of all sub-3 GHz bands on a single pole, Huawei EcoMatrix outperforms conventional solutions in tests:

    • 1.8 dB better coverage
    • 30% less antenna installation space required
    • 35% site-wide energy saving
    Advantages:

    • Simplified site deployment: deploys the 700 MHz, 850 MHz, 1.9 GHz, and 2.6 GHz bands on a single pole, reducing the number of boxes required per site from 15 to 3.
    • Low energy: integrates GigaGreen RRUs, bringing 35% site-wide energy savings.
    • Superb performance: applies true ultra-wideband RRUs, antennas, and signal direct injection feeding (SDIF) technology to eliminate cables, slash feeder and internal insertion loss, and maximize spectral efficiency and network performance.
    • Optimal evolution: features a modular design that allows operators to flexibly and smoothly scale networks by introducing new spectrum resources, even when the antenna installation space is limited; requires no new poles or modernization of installed sites, and can deploy networks in phases according to spectrum availability.

These strengths will help deliver higher-quality mobile network services for Peruvian consumers and drive the country's digital transformation.

Dec 17: du Completes First Global Integration of 25-Gbps E-band Backhaul into 5G-A

    251217-01

du has entered into a three-year agreement with Huawei following the successful deployment of the world’s first 25-Gbps E-band microwave link in a 5G-Advanced (5G-A) site rollout.

The partnership marks a critical step in du’s efforts to enhance its 5G-A network infrastructure, enabling faster, more reliable and scalable 5G-A connectivity across the UAE. It aims to overcome challenges du faces with 5G-A rollout whereby legacy links lack the necessary bandwidth to support the increased capacity requirement of 5G-A, particularly in fiber-scarce regions.

With the newly deployed 25-Gbps link, du is able to address the increased demands of 5G-A. This solution features Huawei's latest wireless innovations, including the industry's only 2T2R E-band device supporting up to 26 dBm and 25 Gbps in a single module.

Dec 08: Huawei and BBI Build Intelligent All-Optical Backbone Network in South Africa

    ScreenShot_20260104110247

South Africa's national broadband infrastructure company Broadband Infraco (BBI) has partnered with Huawei to build a national intelligent all-optical backbone network. The network directly supports the goals of South Africa's national broadband strategy, SA Connect, and will bring affordable, stable, and high-quality broadband to all people in South Africa.

BBI has utilized Huawei's Optical Cross-Connect (OXC) technology to deliver high-speed, flexible transmission with 800G wavelengths across its network. This leap will support the vast expansion of broadband access networks envisioned under SA Connect.

It also enables massive volumes of data to be transferred between cities or data centers in real time, powering applications in healthcare, education, e-commerce, and e-government, as well as fueling South Africa's digital economy.

Dec 05: MTN Nigeria and Huawei Complete World's First RuralCow Commercial Deployment

    251205-03

MTN Nigeria and Huawei have commercially deployed the Huawei RuralCow solution, a rapid-deployment, all-in-one mobile base station that provides mobile coverage to remote rural areas.

By connecting the unconnected in sparsely populated low-ARPU areas, RuralCow helps narrow the digital divide between urban and rural communities and injects momentum into Nigeria's drive toward digital inclusion.

RuralCow combines a baseband unit, radio unit, and transmission equipment, and supports multiple frequency bands and radio access technologies.

Compared with traditional macro base stations, it cuts overall power consumption by about 85%, reduces equipment quantity by roughly 70%, and requires no heavy machinery for installation.
